Truthfest!
In case you’re unfamiliar with what a Truthfest is, see our first one here. Feel free to comment with what God has been teaching you this week! We’d love to see how He’s been at work, and as Christians, we are called to testify to His grace in our lives.

Debbie Jane:
God is convicting me to truly yearn wisdom, and use the measure of it He has bestowed upon me.
“I am wisdom, and I have good judgment. I also have knowledge and good sense. If you respect the Lord, you will also hate evil. I hate pride and bragging, evil ways and lies. I have good sense and advice.” ~Proverbs 8:12-14 (NCV)
Hännah:
I’ve been convicted several times this week about being anxious and irritable. Yet, I’ve also been reminded that while I may be walking through something that I feel is out of my control and uncomfortable, I can rest in the truth that my Father is all-knowing, all-powerful, and has purposed good to me through this. In His good and perfect will for me, there is no room for anxiousness or fear. As the Good Shepherd, He loves His own, and has laid His life down for His sheep, that they [I!] might be changed by His grace to His glory. It’s uncomfortable grace, but I know Who it is Who has ordained this for me, and whatever my God ordains is right.
Kaitlin:
In keeping with the thoughts of my last Truthfest, this week I have been pondering the depth of God’s love for me, and how that applies to my walk with Christ and my life as a whole. His love bestows upon me countless blessings, which I don’t deserve. His love saved me from my sins, when I deserved death. His love has given me life and a reason to live:
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” -Phil. 1:21 (NIV)
Kate:
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. - Romans 8:1-4 (ESV)
Katie Marie:
Strength and perseverance. At the beginning of the week, I knew I was going to desperately need them to get through the week. Strength? He’s been reminding me that every bit of me needs to rely on His strength in every thing. Perseverance? Even when I don’t ‘feel’ godly or holy, I can persevere because of how true the gospel is and how definite His love is for me as His redeemed child.
Kelsey: [Kelsey is out this week at a debate tournament in Chicago. Prayers for her safe travel and for lots of grace on her speaking would be most appreciated!]
Riëtte:
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” -Romans 5:1-5 (NIV)
Stephanie:
During my 40 minute drives to and from school this week, I’ve found joy in praying for everyone and everything that comes to mind. It has amazingly anchored my heart deeper in the God who adores to lavish His promises, as well as helped me stay focused on others instead of myself.

I saw you on The Rebelution.
I, too, saw you on the rebelution site. I am so excited because I keep discovering all these wonderful new blogs that encourage me in my walk with the Lord!
I love this site, and I promise I’ll be back. My prayers are with you all!
In response to your Truthfest, the verses from Romans 8 have kept popping up again and again to me recently, especially today. This is the third time I’ve ending up reading it, completely at random. I do love those verses, and I have had a greater chance to think about them.
This week God has been showing me how proud I can be, and Stephanie’s article about being unnoticeable windows was the coolest thing ever, and such perfect timing! Thank you.
