Debbie Jane Wright, now that she has completed high-school, is looking forward to another summer full of theatrical exploits. Her future schooling (to take place at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College) is in the works- but hopefully will include things like English, Literature, and Composition. These days, DJ spends most of her time hostessing at a local restaurant, being bandmates with her brother and sister, collecting and listening to all manner of music, and singing to herself while driving in the evening. Her many attempts to pick up a book in her free time usually end up foiled by more pressing matters! She is actively trying to trust God with every aspect of her life, and to follow His lead in all of her comings and goings.
Hännah Schlaudt is a sophomore at Grove City College in Western PA, double majoring in English and Christian Thought. Books (mostly classics or theology), coffee, knitting, baking, and ballroom dancing are some of her favourite things. Hännah was homeschooled all the way through, and her eight younger siblings will tell you she’s often silly, though not necessarily as a result. She’s fascinated with the Gospel and hopes to treasure Christ above all else, and to never lose that focus. If she ever decides to grow up, she might write books. Until then, she’ll just keep musing about it all here.
Kaitlin Atmore is 18 years old and a freshman at Moody Bible Institute, double-majoring in Bible and Elementary Education. She loves children and delights in working with them. However, she had to leave her treasured Sunday school class at home in Florida when she moved to Chi-Town. Kaitlin loves reading and especially enjoys missionary biographies where she gleans from the bucket of wisdom left behind by other giants of faith. She also enjoys being creative in the kitchen whether she’s baking or cooking, and hopes that one day she’ll be a culinary genius (or, a proficient cook will do too!). Kaitlin’s utmost desire is to follow God, wherever He leads her, and to embrace the good , hard, truth of the Gospel with her every action.
Kate Lewanowicz is a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University in downtown Richmond, VA, majoring in Political Science, and minoring in Media Studies with sights set toward a future job in the field of journalism. In those precious rare moments of “free time” in her college schedule, Kate enjoys reading (everything from Agatha Christie to CH Spurgeon), photography, teaching piano, and the occasional knitting project. Most importantly, at all times she seeks (by God’s abundant grace) to keep the Gospel the “main thing”, and to share its glorious news with those she encounters.
Katie Marie Smith resides down a dirt road, in the middle of no-where, Oklahoma. She’s 18, she’s one of 7 in her family, and she’s an aunt. Katie Marie graduates from highschool in spring ‘08, and though she’s uncertain what the future will hold in regards to LAHS (life after highschool), she is currently sending applications to a few colleges. Her interests include reading, writing, arithmetic (okay, yes, she does like math), web designing, volleyball, reading, missions, and people. She delights in the Gospel and the mercy and grace of the God displayed therein. Katie Marie seeks to apply the truth of the Gospel to her everyday life, and, by grace, to love the Lord her God with all of her heart, soul and mind.
Kelsey Winther is currently a freshman at Grove City College in Pennsylvania; majoring in economics. Before coming to Grove City she lived in California where she was homeschooled for most of her schooling. In the last five years, she has become highly influenced by reformed doctrine and now considers it the basis for most aspects of faith. Her interests include debate (having competed in jr. high and highschool and continue to do so in college), ballroom dancing, reading (mostly economics, government, and theology), skiing, hiking, and good conversations with friends.
Riëtte Kruger is 18 years old, living in Richmond, VA. She was born and raised in South Africa and moved to the States at age 12. As English is her second language, she enjoys reading more than writing, though finds both pleasantly enjoyable. These days she spends most of her time working at KingsWay Community Church, assisting in administrating regional and local conferences, babysitting, singing, serving at home and seeking daily to honor God in all that she does. In those scarce moments of free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family. Riette loves meditating on the Gospel and the attributes of God; her favorite of which is His sovereignty.
Stephanie Shanks is happy to call Richmond, Virginia, her lifelong home of 20 years. In that time, she’s grown especially grateful for God’s grace manifested in her amazing family, the gift of home-education, her solid church, theatrical arts, and mugs of hot tea. These days, she suppresses her creative side with a good measure of school at Richard Bland College, with the intent of transferring her credits to the field of interior design. Regardless of her career path, her passion will always be to communicate Truth through creative media (involving teaching, kids, and chocolate as much as possible). Steph seeks—more than anything—to better understand, adore, and cling to the grace of her constant Savior, and to one day master being “invisible” for the sake of His Gospel.
all of you girls are amazing. keep up the good work!
Wow, what a great bunch of contributors! I found you through Beauty from the Heart, and I’m looking forward to reading more from you.
Blessings in Christ.
I was lead here from Beauty from the Heart and, wow, I am so blessed just by the few minutes I’ve spent here! I read some of the posts under “Joy in Christ” and that is so much what I needed. To get my mind off of me and all my struggles and focus on the amazing riches of His grace. I could go on and on, but just to encourage you, I had really been struggling today with trusting Him and simply surrendering to and rejoicing in the gospel. Coming to your blog was like a drink from a refreshing stream.
Keep up the good work!
Another great website
I love it
I found your website through Alex & Brett Harris. I’m glad I did!
{Hannah, do you know who I am? I didn’t know you blogged!}
Kate Lewanowicz, I see you are a political science major and I graduated with that degree and work in the field. If you would contact me soon at the given email address, I believe there may be a project of mutual interest we could discuss.
I came to your blog from the Rebelution link, and then found out that a couple of you were in my discussion group at The Clash last summer. Cool!
Keep blogging to the glory of God.
Wow! I’m so excited! Finally some wholesome blogs I’m willing to allow my girls to subscribe to on their Google Reader. Thank you for being an example and an encouragement to young ladies growing up in a very post Christian era. May God continue to bless your studies and your blog posts.

Looks like a great site! Looking forward to reading more! =)
Hi, girls! I am happy to have discovered you. After reading each of your little bios, I have to say I feel like I have a lot in common with you…I’m double majoring in English writing and communications, with a minor in political science–looking to be a writer “when I grow up.” I love playing piano (I started when I was 8), writing, reading (especially missionary bios), and I was homeschooled all the way.
Oh, and Kaitlin, welcome to Chicago–my hometown. I actually live in a suburb, but it’s only about 20 minutes from downtown.
Y’all didn’t tell me you had a blog! I’m glad I finally found out about it (via an email from Hännah). I’m looking forward to reading more. Keep up the good work!
